Generating Multi-photon Entangled States and Simulation of Single-qubit Damping Channels In the Measurement Based Quantum Computing Model

Abstract: This talk will focus on the non-linear process four-wave mixing, its application in pure photon pair generation and the implementation of measurement based quantum computation for single qubit damping simulation. We will review contemporary methods for modelling photon pair generation, explore the spectral properties of these photons and the dependence on material dispersion. We will see how the premises of these models need to be carefully considered when extending into the stimulated regime and discuss future work in this direction investigating cavity sources. We then present a method to decompose an arbitrary single qubit damping channel into the form of a measurement-based quantum computation and demonstrate its implementation on a four qubit linear cluster state.
