We hosted the 24th Symposium on Quantum Matter and High-Energy Physics between 6-8th June 2022, as part of a long-running tradition founded by prof. J.K. Pachos. The Symposium brought together experts in the fields of high energy physics, quantum information and condensed matter who brainstormed various bridges between these fields...

The publishers of European Physical Journal D: Atomic, Molecular, Optical and Plasma Physics are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Editor-in-Chief, Dr Almut Beige, Head of the Theoretical Physics Group at the University of Leeds, UK, effective January 2021. She will be responsible for the fields of photonics,...

During academic year 2020/21, Universities of Leeds (Dr. Papic), Loughborough (Dr. Lazarides) and Nottingham (Prof. Garrahan) will be running a joint seminar series on non-equilibrium physics. The seminars will be hosted on Zoom and typically take place on Wednesdays at 3pm UK time. More information and schedule: https://theory.leeds.ac.uk/leeds-loughborough-nottingham-seminar/

Our group members have spent two weeks in the Spanish Pyrenees attending the programme on “Entanglement in strongly correlated systems” http://benasque.org/2020scs/  In addition to fruitful scientific discussions and presenting their posters, our PhD students have also enjoyed what little snow there was on the nearby slopes (see below).
