Optimization free measures of quantum resources

Abstract: In this talk we will introduce the theory of quantum resources. By presenting the basic principles of the theory and a few examples we will discuss how to geometrically measure the amount of resource present in a state and the cases in which this can be done analytically. Finally by applying the formalism to the resource theory of coherence we will show how the notion of a projective coarse-grained measurement needs to be modified in order for it to be correctly interpreted as a measurement which provides less information about a system's true state than the one obtained from a finer-grained measurement.
